Ukrop's Kicks Off 20th Year Anniversary of its Central Kitchen by Introducing a New Line of Products
Fresh from Ukrop's Kitchen to its customers, the New Ukrop's Bakes answer the question, "What's for dinner tonight?"
Richmond, Va. – June 4, 2009 - Ukrop's Super Markets, Inc. announced today that as a part of its 20th anniversary celebration of bringing fresh and delicious prepared foods to customers, it has introduced a new line of entrees, sides, and desserts called Ukrop's Bakes. Designed to be quick solutions for everyday meal planning, Ukrop's Bakes are "oven-to-table ready” in about 30 minutes.
"What began in 1989 with our introduction of a line of just ten ready-made, chilled prepared foods has evolved into a product line which today contains over 250 dishes. For two decades now, our customers have relied on Ukrop's to 'do the cooking.' What's Cookin'?
- A new line of seven entrees such as Baked Manicotti, Baked Spaghetti, Chicken Cobbler; Sautéed Summer Squash, Roasted Eggplant and and Tomato Provencal, Baked Beans with Bacon as sides; then Peach Blueberry Crisp for dessert.
- Coming soon is Pasta Primavera and White House Roll Bread Pudding; additional items are scheduled to be released throughout 2009.
- For best results, Ukrop's recommends that Ukrop's Bakes be baked in the oven; Ukrop's Bakes are also microwaveable or can be cooked on the grill.
- Ukrop's Bakes meet a variety of dietary needs with vegetarian, low-fat, all-natural and gluten-free options.
- Ukrop's now features four new vegetarian dishes: Baked Manicotti, Sautéed Summer Squash, Roasted Eggplant and Tomato Provencal, Pasta Primavera, Peach Blueberry Crisp, and White House Roll Bread Pudding.
- Using convenient, sturdy aluminum containers that are reusable, recyclable and have re-sealable lids (no need for additional containers for leftovers) — Ukrop's Bakes can be easily stacked in the refrigerator.
- The menu is seasonally driven, ensuring the best flavor and quality; for instance, Peach Blueberry Crisp will be replaced with Apple Crisp in the fall.
