UKROP'S ANNOUNCES GRAND REOPENING OF CHESTERFIELD TOWNE CENTER STORE
Renovations Offer Customers a New Pharmacy and Expanded Shopping Options
RICHMOND, Va.– April 25, 2006 -
Finishing more than two months ahead of schedule, Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc. today announced the completion of a 16-month renovation effort at its Chesterfield Towne Center store at 11361 Midlothian Turnpike.
The newly remodeled store – which originally was built in 1997 – features new décor, bright lighting and split aisles for easier shopping. It also offers customers:
- A new pharmacy – located in the back of the store near an expanded Natural & Organic area
- An expanded meat department to include a full-service meat and seafood case for custom cuts and special orders
- A larger produce section with expanded offerings
- A bigger café with a Starbucks
- Free wireless Internet access
A Celebration Room for private events, business meetings and social gatherings.
In addition, the store includes all of Ukrop’s traditional departmental offerings including deli, bakery, in-store grill and café, salad bar and floral shop as well as a large selection of in-store services like First Market Bank, dry cleaning/alternations and photofinishing.
Celebrating the Grand Reopening
To celebrate the grand reopening, Ukrop’s will offer “hot deals” at this store starting Tuesday, June 27 through Saturday, July 8. During the first week of the celebration, Ukrop’s will host family-fun activities as well as free product sampling. The celebration schedule includes:
Tuesday, June 27: Grand Re-Opening
- $10 Ukrop’s gift cards for the first 100 people in line when the store opens at 7 a.m.
- Live radio remote with K95 (WKHK) from 12–2 p.m. giving away ten $10 gas cards.
- Pharmacy Open House – Diabetes Education & Awareness from 12–6 p.m.
Wednesday, June 28
- Pharmacy Open House – All About Ukrop’s Pharmacy from 12–6 p.m.
Thursday, June 29
- Live radio remote with Q-94 (WRVQ) from 4-6 p.m. giving away ten $10 gas cards.
- Experience the fresh taste of local Virginia seafood with sampling provided by the Virginia Seafood Association
- Pharmacy Open House – nutrition tips from Ukrop’s registered dietitians from 3–6p.m.
Friday, June 30
- Pharmacy Open House – All About Ukrop’s Pharmacy from 12–6 p.m.
- Sampling of Boar’s Head hot dogs from 5-7 p.m.
Saturday, July 1
- $10 Ukrop’s gift cards given to the first 100 people in line when the store opens at 7 a.m.
- Document Termination Services will provide free document shredding courtesy of First Market Bank from 8-10 a.m.
- Live radio remote with Lite 98 (WTVR) from 10-12 p.m. giving away ten $10 gas cards.
- Sampling of Ukrop’s All-Natural Beef outside from 12-5 p.m.
- Free samples of watermelon by the National Watermelon Association from 1-4 p.m.
- A live performance by RD Frequency, Radio Disney’s teen group, from 1-3 p.m.
- A meet & greet with Richmond Braves players from 1-3 p.m.
- An ice cream social to benefit Chesterfield County’s Fire & RescueDepartment from 1-3 p.m. For a $1 donation to Chesterfield County Fire & Rescue Department, customers can make an ice cream sundae. In addition, the department will offer fire safety prevention demonstrations.
