UKROP'S ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING OF SECOND WILLIAMSBURG STORE

Store Offers Latest Full-Service Amenities and Further Strengthens Ties to Community

RICHMOND, Va. – Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006 -
Significantly enhancing its grocery shopping and customer service amenities in the Williamsburg community, Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc. today announced the opening of its second area store on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The new 55,597-square-foot store in the Williamsburg Marketcenter is located at 6610 Mooretown Road Suite W near the intersection of Route 199 and Mooretown Road and across from Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in York County.

Ukrop’s announced the plans for the second store in April 2004. The company opened its first Williamsburg-area store in 1998 at 4660 Monticello Ave., which is about seven miles away from the new location. Ukrop’s newest location will employ 150-175 associates bringing the total number of Ukrop’s associates in the Williamsburg area to approximately 300-350.

“Since joining the Williamsburg community in 1998, we’ve been delighted by the reception we’ve received from area customers,” said Bobby Ukrop, president and CEO, Ukrop’s. “We believe the addition of our second area store in this fantastic location will enable us to share our passion for great food and service with even more local shoppers.

“We also look forward to connecting with many of the millions of annual Williamsburg visitors, as it likely will be their first experience with our stores, our foods, our offerings and our commitment to service,” Ukrop added.
